The White Room

Shot in a period of 3 weeks in a rented room in Berlin, "The White Room" (2012) is a series of intuitive compositions suspended somewhere between reality of fiction. They express a state of yearning through meetings of the body and incidental objects found around the flat – knitting yarn, a handmade dress, crutches, and old VHS tape, and the flimsy duvet I slept under every night.
Through the use of multiple anonymous bodies and these found disparate objects, the series works as interconnected visual tableaux, abstract projections inhabiting a non-space, and dissociated from the specificities of time and identity.
